Simon Worked for 20 years as draughtsman/calligrapher for the Dept. of Western Art at The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford until 2003. He started making calligraphic books around 2006 and has lived in Hungary mostly since then.

From 2014-17 he wrote out the whole of the Bhagavad Gita, the dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna on the eve of battle from the Indian classic, The Mahabharata, to familiarize himself with the text and as an exploration of colour.
